Access my ZGemma when not in the house!

Lads,

Can someone give me a breakdown on how/if I can do this? I'm sure I saw someone mention something about opening a port or that to access it.

Basically, I put the box into the house back home and then started a new job in London a few weeks back. herself hardly ever uses it because it's too complicated apparently..for the life of me i don't see how. if she sticks to the channels it's perfect just stay away from TSMedia as it doesn't seem to work on mine AT ALL !

Anyway I now want to access it when I'm away from home. I was able to do it when sitting in the house a few weeks back just getting settled in over here now so want to take this a step further!

Any help appreciated!!

Try reading here or using search tool. Most people use dynamic dns when accessing externally. But if you turn DHCP off then the box will keep the same ip address and you can then access it without using a dynamic dns and as far as I know it doesn't affect the box at all.

Cheers I'll have a read around.

Anyway...next problem.

I was talking to herself last night on the phone and asked her how the box was going and again she said it wasn't working! She was trying to watch sky movies and sceen was black on each channel. This happened last week too so i reset the box using the switch at the back and it eventually sorted itself after a few goes. So I told her to do this hoping to Christ that would solve it...but no. She then couldn't even see the FTA channels which she had been viewing with no bother previously! Anyone experience anything like this?? For I'm the worst in the world now lol!!

She'll want you on a fight back to sort this out lol
Ask her to check leads are all in back of box properly (none loose) and that hdmi cable is in box and tv (start with basics first). Is the box booting up properly? Then make sure the box is connecting properly to the internet and if using homeplugs then make sure they are connecting.
If you have a laptop at home she could install teamviewer so you could look at it remotely to solve

Also over past month ive seen 4 locals have had dish blow off line. Just a thought if weather was bad?
also leave it on and plugged in just in case a scan overnight fixs.
