Alternative ZGEMMA Remote Suggestions

Hi all,

just looking for for suggestions on an alternative remote for the ZGEMMA H2S, have finally convinced some family members to ditch Sly but being a little elderly they're finding the standard remote a little difficult, is there a remote similar in design to the Sly HD that can be used with the ZGEMMA at all?

(might get a second to keep the missus happy too)

thank you you in advance.

Well yeah, it's not magic :)

You just press the button combination to tell it to learn commands then you press the button you want to program, point the original remote at it and press the corresponding buttion on the old remote.. Repeat until you've done all the buttons you want.

Is it difficult to set up? never used a universal remote before but my parents are struggling to get on with the Zgemma remote and also want to do away with the DVD and Fire TV remotes if they can.

Also is it easy to see the buttons in the dark? my mum whinges she can't make out the buttons when they're using it at night with the light off (which begs the question why not just put the light on... but here we are).

This is the 4 device version:

ONE FOR ALL Simple 4 Universal Remote Control

The keys glow orange and can be seen easily in the dark.
It has a proximity sensor and starts glowing as soon as you put your hand near it.

Very easy to set up, just press and hold the copy button until it blinks.
Choose which device key, TV or PVR etc then press the key you want to set up.
Then press the key on the original remote and hold the remotes together to copy the function.

Bought this and it's come today, managed to program in the TV as there's a code to do it online but I can't seem to program it for the Zgemma. Had a search for it on the page I programmed the TV remote in but it says it may not be supported?

There is no code for the Zgemma, you just use the copy function to copy the functions from the original remote.

Yeah I figured that out, I'm just struggling to work out how to do it. I managed to program the power button (and then somehow I programmed it, same with the EPG button).

Press and hold the copy button until it flashes.
Select PVR, or whatever button you want to use for the Zgemma.
put both remotes on a table facing each other.
Press the button you want to program on the new remote and then the relevant button on the zgemma remote.
You can go through every button then, you don't have to press copy again until you've finished.

So does pressing copy end the process? I think that's possibly where I've cocked up... But should I only have to press the button I want to copy across once?

Okay I've managed to program all the buttons but I have a question

Is there any way you can set a button up to perform two functions? Like using the channel up and down buttons to flick down pages on the EPG or setting the fast forward and rewind buttons to flick between bouquet tabs on the EPG?

Long press 'Copy' to start the process, then when you have finished copying all the functions long press 'Copy' again.

Cheers, got the majority of what I wanted sorted now. But as I say above, can you double program buttons for use in the EPG or?

I use the AV and Text buttons on the One for All as Prev and Next for the EPG. The CH+ and Ch- down buttons will perform exactly the same as on the original remote.

Couldn't seem to flick down the guide when using the channel up and down buttons earlier, but I'll have a play. Thanks for your help!

Can you do it with the original remote? Should do exactly the same with the copied function.
Also depends on what build you are using. Kiddac's Slyk skin adds the ability to use +- to scroll a page at a time, otherwise it's the 2 & 8 buttons.
