Amiko A3 Spark Home has stopped

Constantly getting this message when scrolling through the EPG on this thing. Driving me crazy because it feels like this box could be great if I could iron out one or two issues. Any help out there? Lavatronics recommend backup and factory reset but I don't fancy that until I'm sure there's no other choice, sounds like "we haven't got a clue" to me!

EDIT: Factory reset didn't solve the issue but it surely looks like a software issue so why can't I find anyone else experiencing the same?!

Hi,
I got my A3 this week.
Does the same for me. It only seems to be if I scroll for a few seconds at a time, ie if I scroll down three or four items it's ok.
I think I could learn to live with it as it recovers almost immediately and most of my viewing and channel hopping is on my excellent BT Youview box.
I really only use the Amiko for sport or movies so not much channel hopping.
It is very annoying though. It also sometimes occasionally happens when scrolling through the menus.
I have done a factory reset for other reeasons and updated firmware, didnt make any difference.
Otherwise I think it's very good, particularly picture quality

Assuming you downloaded a new channel list, which one have you found best?

You're in exactly the same situation as me! I downloaded any old channel list and used it as a base to build my own list, I'm pretty anal so I like it that way! One thing I've noticed is that the sky style layout of epg crashes more than the other views, and shorter lists of chanels crash less. It helps to view the epg within my favourites lists rather than "all". Definitely sounds like it's just the box being asked to do too much and we'll have to just get on with it, shame because I really like the box but it looks like it just needs that extra gb ram or a quad core processor.

Lavatronics got back to me recommending I roll back the software to 2.0.72 using http://www.lavatronicsdownloadcentr...ates/&file=FW AMiKO A3 v.2.0.72 (05ABR15).zip

You need to rename the downloaded zip as update.zip before loading it onto the box via USB using the update app.

You lose the sky look epg view but it handles fast scrolling a lot better. I held the scroll button through more than 100 channels before it crashed (without the spark home message), but I'm unlikely to need to scroll through so many channels so quickly during everyday use so it's an improvement in my eyes.

The first thing would be to search this site for "amiko alien" and see if there are any relevant threads. If you don't find your answer try googling "amiko alien stopping". If you still don't get any help try contacting the company you bought from. This thread is about the a3, which is a different box... If it IS an a3 you have then try following the instructions in the above comment.
