Hey guys

my friend has got hold of amiko alien 8900 box and needs a hand with setting it up.

i don't know yet what image etc is on it, but will do tomorrow.

Just wanted a heads start with any guides/advice on the box

Been sent a test line but not quite sure which menus to navigate through to enter it

can anyone help further? Please see pic?

do I need to download something before entering the line?
 
That's the spark side made, you'll have to flash enigma 2 onto the box and set it up with channels and so on and then put in the line. They can be difficult to do but plenty of good guides out there and I can help also if needs be

So without flashing enigma2 image I can't put the line in?

You can through oscam but you can't get anything as good in terms of plugins and recording and epg and so on without enigma2 on it

There already is some plugin_e2... There but I get the message in pic about can't find kernel???
 
Best thing should I just get e2 image put on first and take it from there?

I think alcable sent me web link that has all the software for it lava something the website called

Lavatronics have the vix image. They have videos on their website on how to do it but you might find after time that image being unstable. I'd say go for it with the videos and learn it and then if it did give hassle just use a different image and you'd know exactly how to use it. I use hyperion on alien 2 it's decent enough

Oh ftp mate it should be oscam there's a video on vix website on setting up oscam it's very thorough, you'll need to convert your line to oscam too, there's a tool for that if you Google cccam to oscam converter

just help with loaded line now

Oh ftp mate it should be oscam there's a video on vix website on setting up oscam it's very thorough, you'll need to convert your line to oscam too, there's a tool for that if you Google cccam to oscam converter

the video says to download Oscam Ymod that 1 is not there

which do you recommend I download from softcams ?
 
ive downloaded 1 of the oscam plugins there was no mgcamd or ccam plugin there

also ive downloaded a cccam to oscam convertor on my laptop

kindly got sent a testline sent yesterday now going to see i can convert it

which folders will i have to ftp it into?

someone has sent me testline and i copied into the convertor but a error message comes up

i think its a N line but i cant get it to convert to oscam

or should i just go on the request forum and someone can sent me a oscam testline and il just have to ftp it?

come this far would like to finish it off by getting the line working
