Android or Enigma2 choice?

Could do with some help please, obviously with cable dying shortly am looking at moving to IPTV.

I have got both Gigablue HD Quad Plus and Nvidia Shield TV(2017) available to use.

Have done a lot of reading but could do with some up to date info, dont mind loading stuff and all that jazz.

Will probably end up doing both but need to start somewhere.

Also whatever one I choose has to be wife friendly especially look, navigation etc.

If i had too choose one then Android and the xciptv app it's very nice imo , though you could ask your provider for both setups and make it clear you'll only be using 1 connection at a time so could always stick one if another room etc.

Ease of use i'd say enigma 2 as most are used to that by now but i'm not a fan of iptv on it but loads here seem to love it setup on them so really it's personal choice .

Take trials on both and see which you and the Mrs like better. If you use the shield, there's an app called ltq (videos on YouTube) that's the closest android iptv app to Sky I've seen/used. Not all providers will use this app though.

I'm not very fond of Android myself, but something high-end like the Shield will run the likes of Tivimate well I'd expect.

E2 will always be the most "Set-top box-like" interface wise, but Tivimate on Android is a close second. I'd also invest in a bluetooth remote for the shield with numbers and dedicated guide button etc and play around with the keymaps in Tivimate.

I'm in the process of converting from satellite/CS to IPTV and am using both, simultaneously, on my highend Ultimo4K.
I just use JediMakerXtream to create the IPTV bouquet(s) and have seamless change between the different services.
To the OP, IMHO, I'd stick with your GigaBlue. Why add more hardware and yet another remote control?

if it is purely for IPTV then I would drop enigma2 and go for something android. sheild/firestick or android box. The is so much more that you can do with them.

If you are still going to use your enigma2 box for sat/terestrial /cable (it aint gone off yet) then I would put iptv on there as well, don't want too many remotes just to switch over to watch something else.
