My problem :bang head: :bang head: :bang head: :bang head: Anyone know of the best fix? Thanks guys!

Untitled-1-1.jpg

I'd love to help you on this one, but have no or little experience with hijack this. Have you tried running malwarebytes to see if it improves the situation?

try here Franco HERE
You may also consider updating to SP3,Kaspersky is a better line of defence in conjunction with Antimalwarebytes at detecting any malicious items being installed with your programs,is the Mcafee active alongside your norton

Yes have used Malwarebytes....it caught a few trojons and mailware. But i still have the same problem. My computer will lose sound and then nothing will open up....and also my browser keeps crashing a lot! It make it so I can't even shut down properly,I have to do it on the tower. And I keep getting he Generic WIN32 error- I think this is the main problem. I'll try what you have posted Sinno, thanks!

I am by no means anywhere near an expert on this Franco, but I am not seeing anything that really stands out at me in your log. There are a few odd and end things that I would change but some of it is just personal preference. I don't like Symantec (Norton) at all. I have tried removing it from too many machines and to me anything that seats itself that deep and it that difficult to remove, qualifies as malware to me. Also as sinno mentioned, I see the McAfee program in there, if it is active it could cause some issues as you should not run 2 antivirus programs, as well as possible stability issues it could actually decrease your protection due to conflicts. One little thing, you may try disabling the NVIDIA Display Driver Service. I have read of past instances where problems were associated with these drivers. Good luck.

I agree what with your saying with Symantec.....I always remove these programs after I reformat. The thing is....this is right after a reformat, before I even had time to take off these programs that are preloaded on the computer...I always delete these and the rest of the garbage they load on these computers. I always use Zonealarm and AVG together. It's just weird that Im having problems like this after a reformat...never happened before. Just ran the 100th reformat 5 min. ago, well see what happens....

Have you added any new devices recently? This sounds very suspicious of a driver issue.

all is good so far after the last re-format.....I think I have it under control now. Thanks for your help everyone. Seems like the problem started when I updated windows....which I never do,but a program I used needed SP3. Never again.

Hi Franco I have work in ICT in primary schools for 10 years.
The best advice I can give you is to back up all you docs and pictures and anything else you want, Make sure you have the install disk and then wipe the hard drive if it has a partition drive delete the partition and just have one drive.
then reinstall xp I would put service pack 3 and explorer 8 on it you will have around 90 Microsoft updates dump Norton and install AVG get it from Ebay three year cover around £40 and your machine will run a lot faster.
Regards
John
