Asus Vivobook

I have a little brain teaser for you all.

Purchased a Asus Vivobook s400c.

Gets power to the board
Powers up
Battery holds its charge

No screen output via the screen on the laptop & Hdmi output.

Windows 8 sticker on the back so I even left it a good hour to be sure that it has booted up before I inserted a HDMI cable. Still no joy.

Going to unplug the battery out (it's built in)
hold the power button for 60 seconds (without the charger plugged in)
Plug the charger in (with the battery still unplugged)
Try turn it on then to see if there is a difference.

I hear the method above works for some people.

If the screen is still black after that & no output to the hdmi monitor, I'm going to try removing the CMOS battery.

Any other ideas in case that doesn't work?

I don't think there is a fault with the screen as there isn't any output on the hdmi port.

Update

Opened it up, removing the battery didn't work, I noticed the fan wasn't spinning when I fired it up but the HDD made its usual noises which I mistook for the fan when I had the case on.
Also roved the CMOS battery and powered up and put it back in, No joy

Any other suggestions?

There seems to be a common failure to turn on with Asus, check below.
Hope you can get sorted.

Already had that link up rs47 ;)

hope the CPU hasn't blown!
makes me think it has blown due to the fan not starting up
