AutoBouquetMaker and UK pick tv

Newbie
I updated to latest version and rescanned and noticed that even when set to the correct region of the UK, AutoBouquets is putting the Republic of Ireland version of PICK tv into the All Channels Bouquet and not the UK version, I only noticed because all the prices in the adverts are in Euros not GB Pounds. I found the UK version and swapped them over. The UK version has a different service ref to the Irish version
1:0:1:16C4:7DB:2:11A0000:0:0:0::Pick UK version

1:0:1:159A:7E7:2:11A0000:0:0:0: Irish Version

it is also putting the channel way down near the bottom of the bouquet when it used to be up near Challenge tv(channel number 161) Pick tv is channel number 160.

everything was fine until a couple of days ago and I had not changed any settings.....I have now tried different settings in AutoBouquetMaker but it remains the same....am out of ideas now, any help would be great, I have uploaded my AutoBouquetMaker debug log.

You have told ABM to only bring in FTA ( Free to Air) channels only. The SD Pick on 28.2 version is not FTA for London. I suppose the same is true for Essex.

What do you expect the "not-indexed" function to do?

I'll answer for you, ABM reads the data table and places the channels in places specified by the data tables. If you leave the non-indexed disabled, it will not add the services that are not in intended for Sky receivers in your region to the bouquets. This includes Irish versions. These are normally added at the end of the list.

If you set main bouquet = all channels, you will have also have a section that is called Not indexed in that bouquet.

The UK SD version for Sky London and other areas is not FTA. If I add the Irish one, people will be bitchig that it does not have the Football. For now, the HD channel is free, so that will be in the secondary bouquet if you are using an SD line up..

You are welcome to give your answer.

FTA:
Plug in a Sky receiver and check if Pick works without a card.

Football/Wrong/Change:
As you have been advised at least once, ABM reads the tables and places the channels as per the data table. We don't change the code to add channels.
You need to ask Sky and SES. You can also ask why on Freesat, the SD version is showing something different to the HD one. They will probbaly get around it by seaying it is free on their receiver with the card. Which is not FTV, not FTA.

Yes I did, but I updated to latest ABM today, but the issue started before I updated.

The thing you have to understand, it isn't ABM dictating things,It is the broadcaster/provider. Whether you use an old ABM or new ABM, it is the same data being used. I just massaged the names so that they don't show as 5828/5829 over last two days. I'll have to undo it when they change names in a few days.

BTW, you ought to add debug log ( not ABM log) so the options for all ABM providers in ABM are shown.

I now intend to hack the Irish channel in so that the swap can happen. The HD channel is FTA.

Right, this is where I am getting confused, not with what shows what but where on the epg the channel is placed, I found this........https://www.rxtvlog.com/2020/06/skys-pick-goes-hd-in-complex-pre.html

Where to watch Sky's Pick channel in the UK

HD
- with football
SD
-with football
SD
-no football
+1
-no football
Sky 159 895* - 259
Freeview¹ - 11 -
Virgin TV165 - - -
Freesat 147 - 144 145
so what I was talking about was its position, I thought it would be in "slot" 159, not somewhere else, that was all.

sorry just saw your new reply, do you know where I would find the setting for debug log you are referring to?

Lets stick to bouquets for now. We do not need to add EPG into the mix.

Disable FTA only, do not enable teh swap, then run ABM for Sky only. What service to you get in LCN (logical channel number) 159? You won't be able to watch it as it is encrypted. Let stick to real life instead of what is on websites.

When I do the scan with FTA disabled and it scanning in all the encrypted sky channels LCN 159 is PICK (the 1 listed as showing football)

I don't need the debug log anymore, I have run it a few times with different options and providers anyway. But for reference,
Menu > Setup > System > Logs > Settings
Enable it, restart to take effect. Run ABM, you will find log. Default location is /home/root/logs

This is the problem. Pick on Sky is not FTA. It does not matter what the web says. As I said, check on a Sky receiver. In ABM, using custom mode or FTA mode skips it. Because you have enabled not-indexed, ABM adds the RoI one further down the list. I suspect Sky's website/media will be inundaed with Pick is not FTA. Depending on how they feel and costings, they will do something immediatley or wait for the rename in a few days.

Good Afternoon,

I saw that ABM was updated today, thank you for that, Now I know I get things confused but I noticed on the github page it says,

"[28.2] Pick

Added HD to ROI provider
Added ROI SD version to UK as the official one is not viewable
Added more renames for the HD version as when two providers are run there is some overwriting"

Like I say I know I confuse certain things FTV,FTA etc and scanning in FTA only vs Sky, but just wanted to let you know that there is a viewable UK Version of PICk SD(the one not showing footy) I have a zgemma h2s and whilst on PICK if I press TV on the zgemma remote then the red button(All) it show me 4 versions of PICK, the first seems to be ROI(as prices in adverts are in euros), the second seems to be UK version, the third is not viewable and the fourth is PICK HD.

The Freesat and Sky protocols ABM uses are different. The Sky protocol does not find the UK Freesat one. Hopefully it gets sorted out during the rename. You can use a mix file to delete the one I've hacked in and then add the Freesat one if you want. We imported the Irish channels while Sky were implementing their encryption changes, so that is the norm. We still have a few in the slow death section.

Just for reference:
If you perform a scan using the function in Enigma2 (i.e don't use ABM), select clear before scan. The names will be overwritten.
