bitlord windows 8 problems

my nephew has a pc running windows 8 and has been using bitlord for a while with no problems but today it isnt working properly. when he launches the program it opens but only in the taskbar it wont fully open to the desktop . if you put the mouse over the entry in taskbar it shows a preview box of bitlord running . i have tried the following
1 uninstall / reinstall
2 system restore to earlier time
3 opened task manager and tried to maximise and force to front
nothing seems to work , i have now drawn a blank , its the same version he is using he didnt update
any ideas

bitlord is like u torrent why not use that use the older version much better Old Version of uTorrent 2.2.1 Build 25302 Download - OldApps.com

we used to use u torrent just like the way bitlord is set up with the search facility and the top list function

Why not try out 'BitTorrent'

u can add search providers in utorrent i had it set to search my fav private site So If you like to add any search provider as quick search for torrents
Options - Preferences - Advanced - UI Extras
Then in the search engines field, add as many as u like
