Cable splinter and cables

Hi all
Think I may have an issue with splitter and cable. Only scanning about 160 channels
First question.
My splinter is a 5-2400mhz . I see people recommend a 5-1000mhz. Is the wider range the problem?
Second question
My cables are all under 0.5m as the TV box and modem are next to one another.
I just used normal TV cable, had it on a 50m reel. What cable spec is recommended and where can it be bought?

Thanks

Splitter should be a tratec 5 -1000 MHz

Use WF100 cable or equivalent.
Pure copper core

Check net ID as you should be finding 384 channels (give or take a couple)

People use the 5-1000mhz ones because that's what VM use but i've used the 5-2400mhz ones from Screwfix before and they have been fine - I think the important thing is to only use quality gear including cables... WF100 us brilliant as already pointed out :)

Does the SNR value have to be 100%

Menu/setup/service searching/signal finder

Mine is hovering around 90%

As ste said....ive got a 5 - 2400 from screwfix. Installed couple days ago and signal is around 90.
Most likely to be net ID. Google net id for your area. Should be easy enough to find.

True... I assumed he would have stated though if he were.

Do you really only get a hundred and odd channels on cable in Ireland?
