Can Sky tell I am using a dodgy box?

Reading about Skybox some forums say that Sky can spot other satellite receivers plugged into the same TV is this true?!?!??! The Sky box will send a message back to sky?!?!

I was thinking of trying my new box out on the same tv as my Sky HD.

If you use a splitter on the cable from the LNB to the box and add your new box onto the same cable and run both at the same time, they will not both work.
the TV doesn't send a signal back to anyone.
I think what you are asking is - Can I use a dodgybox and a Sky TV box on the same cable, but at different times, then yes is the answer, and Sky will never know
