cctv problem playing back files backups.

just got a h.264 16ch dvr set up ok I think but when I go to backup images they wont play back .to backup it has a usb port which I have connected a external dvd writer ,ive then burned off the images . then gone to playback on laptop .it is in removable devices when I open it it has two files videoplay and some numbers .I installed the videoplay and when u open the numbers you 0000001 dat file 00000002 dat file etc but cannot open files any help thanks

hi there, normally with the dvr's they sometimes have inbuilt software on the web client software, you normally have to convert them from the data files to avi look for h264 to avi on the web client mate, thats how mine is anyway

what sort of model is it? maplin job? swan?

Try using this.

I use it for my own CCTV, it has an option to convert to other file types also.

thanks for your help I had the superplayer but was using it wrong sorted now thanks again
