Celtic have reached an agreement in principle with Israeli side Bnei Yehudu to sign Ismaila Soro for £2 million pounds, STV has learned.

The clubs have been in discussions for a number of days over the proposed transfer of the midfielder and a breakthrough was made on Thursday.

But we understand there is still work to be done to get the deal over the line.

Soro, who was born in the Ivory Coast, will require a visa to play in Scotland and his move will also be subject to passing a medical.

Soro completes move to Celtic

Ismaila Soro has arrived in Glasgow and finalised his £2m switch to Celtic.

The holding midfielder has joined the champions on a four-and-a-half year deal.


The 21-year-old, who played in Moldova and Belarus before moving to Israel in 2018, has become Neil Lennon’s second signing of the January transfer window.


Upon landing in Glasgow, Soro described the move to Celtic as a “very good” move adding that he “likes this club”.
