Champions League: Mario Balotelli misses Liverpool trip to face Ludogorets

Liverpool will be without striker Mario Balotelli for their Champions League clash against Ludogorets Razgrad - but Jordan Henderson has travelled.

Balotelli, who missed Sunday's 3-1 defeat at Crystal Palace, has had further treatment on a groin injury at Liverpool's Melwood training base.
But England midfielder Henderson left for Bulgaria with the rest of the squad after recovering from the illness that kept him out at Selhurst Park.
Liverpool are third in Group B with two games remaining and take on Ludogorets on the back of four straight defeats. A fifth would eliminate them from the Champions League if Basel were to avoid defeat at home to Real Madrid.
Brendan Rodgers is due to hold his pre-match press conference in Sofia this evening, but in the meantime he told the club website: "We need to be more tenacious, more aggressive and have a greater capacity to defend better as a team.
"When there are moments to defend, you have to defend better - and that's something that we'll look to do."
Those comments came after Anfield great Jamie Carragher gave a withering assessment of his old club's form on Sunday in his role as a Sky Sports expert.
He said: "They are getting bullied out of games - there are no men in the team. There's no leadership on the pitch. Liverpool aren't getting beat by quality - they're getting bullied."
Can Liverpool avoid Champions League elimination on Wednesday? Watch their game against Ludogorets Razgrad live on Sky Sports 5 from 7pm.
