Cline not working after firmware update

Hi. I found a thread with a similar problem but it's been dead for a while and the people posting on it haven't been online in ages, so I thought I'd make a new one and see if anyone can help.

A few months ago I updated the firmware on my F5s to get the new EPG. My Cline stopped working, but I didn't notice at the time as I also had an mgcamd line on this box and by the time I did notice I didn't mind as the Cline had been a gift anyway.

Last week I put the new firmware on a friend's box and got the same problem. The Cline was working perfectly before I updated the firmware, now any Cline added to the box says offline/login. I contacted the guy who runs the server and confusingly he said that the original line was working and watching Sly Sports 1. This may have been the channel the box was on before the upgrade, I can't remember. We thought maybe somebody else had used this line on another box, so he deleted it from the server and gave me a new line, but I'm getting the same problem.

Has anyone seen this before? If so, is there a way to fix it? I can't work it out at all and it's doing my head in! Thanks in advance for any help.

I had a similar problem with my Skybox F3 a few months ago. I was experimenting with the newer FW's, as the box hadn't been updated since we got it and it was glitching far too often. When I put the latest one on from Skybox.cc and rebooted, my Cline was still showing in cccam, however it just said offline (Everything was working before I flashed the new FW).

When I rolled the box back to an older FW everything was back online.

I read somewhere on another forum (Can't remember which one now) that some of the newer FW don't support some cams. This could be completely wrong, but it made sense from my results.

I was hoping I would be able to get it working with the new firmware and EPG, but it's good to know that rolling it back will work for now so thanks. I don't think it's a problem with CCcam as N-lines entered into it work correctly, it's only C-lines that are causing problems.

Apologies, I meant my Nline (Typed Cline out of habit) was showing as offline on the latest FW until rolling back the FW.

I never could find a definite answer to the problem, just the postings elsewhere saying some of the latest FW's don't support some cams. I didn't explore it further, but will be soon as I like to tinker with it. If I work out what's going on I'll post back here, the same goes for if I find the post I saw elsewhere (I'll PM)

Always make a back up of your line when doing a FW update just incase something goes wrong If your line doesnt work after a update and its still showing up its worth just un ticking it then re tick and re booting the box

Aye I've got back ups and and stuff just want the new firmware and EPG working. I have tried un-ticking/re-ticking, rebooting, deleting and re-adding... even changing to a new Cline but nothing has worked.

Yeah, but how would that make a difference if you've got port forwarding setup already for the line? All that's changing is the FW

Yes thanks I do know that, satman. I can get Clines for a lot less than Nlines, so I don't want to change my friend's line to a more expensive Nline. I tried a test Nline on CCcam my own receiver, it worked fine. Clines in CCcam are the only thing which aren't working properly.

I have been working with satellite boxes for quite a while, cable boxes for a long time before that. I have been on TechKings since its creation and was on the AD forum that existed previous to it. I don't post often as I don't need help very often and when I do I make use of the "search" facility before starting bullshit threads - this is why I only have a Member profile, nothing to do with being a noob. I have tried all sensible basic steps to sort this out and was checking if I could get technical help from someone who might have experience of the problem. I apologise if this seems blunt or rude, I do appreciate your help but don't want to answer question after question on my knowledge of satellite receivers and CS.

Who the hell charges more for n lines then c? They are the same thing lol

I did cable boxes for 4 years and now Cs boxes for two ! Known on techwatch like some one else here and also sites like digital world and also was on the closed down cccam and wizard site

So I also know bout them and c lines are the same as n lines from a server just better speed and some boxes line n better then c or c better then a n

C lines and n lines and mgcamd are used on Oscam and mcs and n lines mostly for csp

Now if my boxes (will get told of by admin again?) work on my mates Cs with clines . Then that means more the server end and not u

I know there shouldn't necessarily be a difference in price, but I don't have a server and this guy is the cheapest I have found by some considerable distance. I don't know what he uses for his cards. His English isn't great and his Clines work well, so I've no desire to discuss the matter with him in any great amount of detail. Brand new Clines which have never been used on another receiver will not work on one of these boxes once the FW has been upgraded. That's the issue. It'd be great if you could offer some help on it.

Well most as you know fake local cards And share of shares and we can check via clines if they are fake

I wonder if he he has a setup about cccam to stop like Muti logins or ip ect

I would say send me a cline to test here . I guess you tested everything? Port open ect

i think that is why he is getting problems satman he is not changeing the protocol to mgcamm in Cccam settings.

Sorry lads but you just don't understand the problem at all.

The Clines are fine, they work in the same receiver when it has old firmware on it. When I upgrade to the new firmware and EPG the Clines stop working. No Cline works on either receiver once the firmware has been updated. MGCamd works fine. Nlines in CCcam work fine. The only thing that doesn't work is when you enter a Cline in CCCam (it shows as Offline/Log in).

When I roll back the firmware the Clines work perfectly again. The problem is with Clines on the new firmware. If anyone has experienced this or can actually offer any useful help I'd love to hear from you, otherwise you can rest assured that I have tried your suggestions.

That sounds mucho weird chriostoir. So it works on old firmware, just mot on the new one. I haven't heard of this other than yours. Personally, I would leave your mates on the old firmware as all that was fixed is the YouTube and youporn apps.
It can only be a firmware glitch, as you have rolled back and then it works. I don't know of a new way to install them because of the new firmware, have you tried manually inputting the line, unfortunately it's the only thing I can think of.

Cheers wheelo. Yeah tried entering it manually, no joy. I have mgcamd lines to use on my own box so gonna leave it as is. I gave my mate a different box with the old firmware and his original Cline on it, gonna get his box back off him and play about with it for a while and see if I can find a way around it. Will report back if I've any luck.

May sound silly but have u tried a diff cline from another server? Even as a test to rule out your guy?

Yeah tried a Cline from someone else that came as a gift, same thing. Doesn't work on the new firmware then starts working again when I roll it back. It's strange like.

Just thought I'd post to say that this issue has been fixed.

Finally got around to putting the latest FW on for the EPG BST fix, then tried a Cline and, to my delight, it worked. So in the off chance that someone else experiences this, the latest FW will sort it out.
