LAS VEGAS -- The Clark County District Attorney announced plans to seek the death penalty in the case of the man accused in the deadly shooting and crash on the Las Vegas Strip.

DA Steve Wolfson filed the notice of intent to seek the death penalty against Ammar Harris Wednesday afternoon.

Harris is accused of shooting and killing Kenneth Cherry Jr., while driving along the Strip in February. After getting shot, Cherry lost control of his Maserati, sped through the intersection at Flamingo Road and crashed into a cab.

The cab exploded into flames, killing the driver, Michael Boldon, and the passenger, Sandra Sutton-Wasmund.
