Decent whisky, gift for a true gent. Help needed.

Jameson's is nasty, like white lightning to a cider drinker, ,,,,
Thats all I know tbf, I will try some different ones. I didn't drink whisky until we visited Dublin, and visited the Jameson distillery, and thought this is ok.lol

So whats a nice smooth whisky @steptoe ?

Glenfiddich is nice whisky, as I recommended, or Bushmills for a whiskey,
Depends if you want a single malt or blended ,
For rye, try Canadian club.

Glenfiddich is a good choice, Bushmills 30 years is the only preference. Macallan 18 years is a solid gift choice for all whisky drinkers
 
ultimately it depends what he likes, i like peaty whiskey but for some people that's to 'tough', and some ppl. like sweater stuff, anyway, i see you already bought, so good luck
