Deleted my main HDD in Device Manager - HELP

I was looking to update the drivers on an external USB drive and in the process I seem to have uninstalled my PC's booting hdd from Device Manager.

When I scan for hardware changes it doesn't return.

It's asking me to reboot to complete the process, which I'm obviously terrified of doing.

The computer's still functioning okay but the C:grin:rive no longer appears in Disk Management.

Any ideas please?

I've thought of it but at the moment I'm reluctant to reboot until I know it will definitely work.

Is your HDD not showing in Device Manager-Disk Drives at all? Or is it showing with a yellow warning triangle icon? Also, is it Windows 7?

There's no Disk Drives category anymore. There was before I deleted the drive. (Windows 10)

Could run this and see if it picks up a driver for your HDD. I've used it a few times to get me out of a scrape. Make sure you do a "custom" install as I found it put some unwanted stuff on as well. Other than that, I'd try System Restore.

Success.

The drive update didn't detect the drive but I've just completed a successful restore.

Phew. Thanks for your replies. Appreciated.
