Difference between SV6 and SV7

Hi All,

Could someone please explain the difference wbtween the two boxes.

Additonally, I was considering purchasing the SV Combo but have heard that ti tends to crash quite often, is this so?

the sv7 looks like a retool early sv6 box without the lan port but it comes with a (serial to lan adapter) that works ok I have had 2 running since Friday they work just the same as the sv6+lan box’s, menus and remote are the same can I recommend them - but I cannot understand why they stuck a extra tenner on the price:cheesy grin:

Yes I am a newbie to the forum and to starview (7) It was recommended to me by IWANTABOX.COM as a replacement to my eurovox voxbox 1000,
can anyone please inform me of any extra work I will need to do to get it up and running on virgin cable Lancashire, other than taking it out of the cardboard box it came in today. Please help a newbie out ASAP.

there is a tutorial on here if you search sv7 and it will give you all the info you need to get you up and running. sorry i cant help as i dont have one. check out the stickies in the sv forum for any new firmware etc
Apparently its quite simple to set up - ive just not got round to getting one

I'm sorry I only joined today, (Hijacking your thread ?)

I was informed on joining the forum that the only way I could download any files I have found would be to post a question first and that replies in threads would still not allow me to download. so following the rules I asked a question and got my download. I then asked what I do with it.

I thought you asked for a difference between starview 6 + 7, and I asked as a new user of the starview system for a pointer on the forum to any info I would need to know to get one up and running, two very different questions. and I find your tone very unfair.

I would like to thank the person who helped me find the info I was looking for and I hope that not everyone on the forum is like you.

I hope you too find your answers and apologize for any inconvenience I have caused you.

Not a problem DMPortrait,

If members could post the link to the thread it would save all the confusion.
When a member posts in a thread (even a sticky) the thread will move up. It might be the 4th, 5th, thread etc but it will move when a member posts in the thread.

Hope you got the box up and running DMPortrait :)
