The one i have is like the second pic you sent but in the tner config it says:
Si2166D (S2) and the person i traded with showed the receipt from the official place they sell this box at.
 
The HD51 has hardware mutliboot. Use image manager (Openvix) or Flash online/local (openATV) to flash an image, you will be prompted as to which slot to install the image on.

In the restart menu, there is a multiboot menu/option that will allow you to choose which slot to reboot from.
 
Wonder if D is the new combined reading that article
