Edimax EW-7811 UAC WiFi Driver

Nuccio

Newbie
I recently jumped from atv over to vix.

Now I have a problem with the EW-7811 UAC wifi stick, it is not detected by the box. I have downloaded the driver from the plugins menu, powered down the box completely, inserted the wifi stick and powered up the box, all to no avail. The driver is not installed and the network wizard does n't show a WLAN.
It worked flawlessly on ATV.

The driver I downloaded via plugins is the network-USB-rtl8812au.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

Unfortunately the download feeds on vix have been cut off so you will have to search for the chipset of your wifi adapter and find the driver for a enigma2 box

ALSO i would try find the wifiLan system plugin for enigma 2.

It covered my wifi adapter, it might well do yours too :)

Nope as the feeds have been cut off, you will have to download it manually on a pc
Ftp the ipk file to the tmp folder
Then install it via the box or put the ipk file on a USB stick
Put it in the box whilst its on a channel then it'll pop up with install plugins

A little confused now.
When I go to MENU - PLUGINS then GREEN button, I get the "Please wait" screen and then after about 5 mins a list of all available plugins appear and I am able to download any one I select.
I'm using openvix 4.2.023

Ok cheers, I'll give it a go tomorrow, connected via LAN at the minute.
Thanks for your help!

Tried what you suggested, still not detecting the USB dongle.
Nevermind, it must be a driver issue.
Thanks anyway.

can you telnet to box and run these commands

dmesg > /tmp/dmesg.txt
cat /proc/bus/usb/devices > /tmp/usb.txt

post the 2 text file generated
