EPG/XMLTV importer issues, box crashes/boot loops

Not sure what could be causing the issue but, I've got the latest slyk skin version. Done a software update, but when I try to check EPG (pressing EPG) on the remote it says 'please wait while gathering data' then crashes?

I used the backup from the kiddac's dropbox folder. Is it anything to do with the backup I've used or the software update? Is there anyone else having any similar issues?
I'm aware xmltv importer has now changed to epg importer. Maybe this is where the clash is but I couldn't find a xmltv importer to delete but managed to delete rytec plugin. re-installed epg importer plugin and set it up for rytec uk. Deleted my epg.dat from my drive and doing a manual scan. Tried checking the Graphical EPG settings during which again it crashed and is now boot looping.

I've a working backup in the meantime I can revert to, but I want to be able to update my box from time to time. Has anyone got the right files folders I can replace whatever's wrong on mine?

Did you reboot after?

Just a thought. Why are you using epg importer. For sky use crossepg. select opentv providers. select sky uk and save. Then run download now

Doesn't work after a reboot, should this be done before/after install/removal of plugins. Is there a specific way to do this? I put the backup back on, ran a software update tried to sort the plugins it crashes and got a boot loop again

I don't want crossepg, it takes an age to update, just want a working graphical epg with epg importer and the ability to software update without it conking out? what else could it be? could dsayers2014 updateconfig files on autobouquetsmaker be causing any issue?

The config updater shouldn't be causing issues. I would be checking the storage device is still mounted and epg is saving to it not internal flash. Also check catchflush how much memory do you have left on the box?

Doing an ota update on openatv should add the latest configupdater for you

I will update my barebones 5.3 backup in my dropbox folder later tonight. As mentioned in PM that build was an an early 5.3 build so it probably doesn't play too nicely with newer software updates.

Saves all this faff of trying to work out what has crashed your box. But just as a last thought... has the software update re-brought in the DVD player plugin. That seems to be buggy on 5.3. If so try removing that plugin.

Cracked it!

I think it was an old UsageConfig.py file (to do this http://www.techkings.org/openvix-op...in-version-3-now-available-32.html#post493668)

To make sure what I did was download the updated one from Github, did the same with EpgList.py and EPGLoadSave.py and seems to have fixed it... for now

How can I make sure these keep up with any software updates?
