Fire cube remote not connecting

I've had a fire cube a few years but then all of a sudden the remote stopped working the fire cube.

First job, I changed out the batteries then using my phone to unpaired it.
I've done all the button pressing
Remove batteries
Home button
3 buttons 10 seconds
And Searched in the cube settings

But when I hold the home down 10 seconds the remote flashes but the cube doesn't pick it up except for that the cube remote power button turns my TV off.
I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the remote but I can't get it to operate the fire cube
Any ideas ?

Can't figure out if you've already tried but:

Download the Fire TV remote app on your mobile phone and use that to control/navigate to the remote control settings. See if you can re-pair the remote that way

First problem.. Do not unplug the remote first... Hold the 3 buttons first then remove batteries..THEN unplug firestick.. Then with no batteries. Hold each button on remote for 3 seconds and let go, continue to every button on remote(including 4 buttons-Left right down up.....) Do not skip any buttons... Plug in firestick Put batteries back in.. Wait 60 seconds.. Hold the home button until it pairs, do not let up(up to 60sec) Preferably standing right next to firestick..

Another way, after put batteries back in..I've used the fire TV app to navigate the firestick to Bluetooth settings\pair new remote... And then hit home button till pairs then ok on app.. Works 100
