Firestick problem?

Heres the story...
I bought a 4K Firestick in one of amazons sales.... back in 2020..
I couldnt get Alexa to work so complained to Amazon..
They sent me a replacement but wanted the old stick back, they sent a label and envelope.
I didnt send it back as the new one they sent out had the same problem, no Alexa...
Anyway, Ive just plugged it in cause i want one for my new pub in the garden, but, it wont go past the upgrade screen, telling me to contact Amazon helpline...

So, my question is, did they disable it when they sent the new one? and, is there a way to hack it? Ive got it behind a vpn.

Factory reset it and see if it will register under a different ID

How do i do a factory reset, I cant get past the first screen..

Scroll to about half way down

Reset via remote.

Still not working, done the factory rest followed a few different online guides...
Still asks me to contact amazon....
