Satellite Flash expander

Hi I thought i`d try flash expander so I installed it and set it up with my 250 hdd, then I couldn't record anything and in file list all recordings were gone, now I know ive done something wrong and sorted it buy mounting my hdd again and all recordings were still there, can I ask what did i do wrong and is there any need for flash expander ? I tried it cos I installed stalker and thought id need it

The H7 don't need flash expander
As it has this onboard
4GB EMMC NAND Flash/ 1GB DDR3
