Formatting USB Stick

I formatted a 250gb usb stick from NTFS to exFat to use on openbox v8s but openbox don't recognise usb stick, is there anything I can do to get Fat32 onto stick. My operating system is windows vista and only had NTFS (default) or exFat on formatting
