Freezing issues

I've been using the same provider for the last year now and had to renew my subscription about a week ago. Since then I have had non stop freezing issues.

My provider has been working with me to get the issue sorted, he provided me with a new line which worked great for a couple of days but then the freezing started again. Sometimes 10-15 times a minute.

I recently moved house and had to install my own dish and find a new ISP, my previous line was still active at the time and when I was up and running everything was fine, just as it was before I moved house. This issue started when I had to renew my subscription. I have tried test lines and they are working fairly well so I am assuming there is some problem with the lines I have been provided with. Strangely though, my daughter also uses the same provider and her line is virtually glitch free.

I am trying to eliminate all other possibilities rather than just change provider as I have had 12 months of near perfect viewing.

My setup:

Zgemma Star 2s running Wooshbuild, mgcamd, ISP is sky fibre with their SR102 router (I have heard that the sky fibre routers are crap)

I am running the line on 2 boxes which is already OK'd with my provider and I had no problems with this setup before renewal.

I'm out of ideas, I have rebooted both box and router numerous times, I reflashed my box, deleted and reinstalled the line.

Any suggestions guys?

I guess I've either covered everything or nobody else has this problem.

I'm still waiting for a reply from my provider but I'm getting sick of requesting test lines just to keep me going for a few days.

If the test lines are working fine though it can't be my router or isp so I'll have to just see what my provider says.

Then take a test and bite the bullet and sub with someone else. Taking tests from providers in the hope that your present provider may or may not respond to your questions is basically wasting some ones time.
Its pretty clear that your current provider aint getting back to you any time soon, if I were in your shoes that's what I would do!

I'm told some people have different servers for test lines. I have recently heard from 2 different people that there are some DOS attacks being run affecting some servers. Do as garyty says.

Baffled to why you had to add new details surely you could of kept the same line you had if you extended.
(i would of asked that question).
If other lines work its the server your on.

I've used 2 different test lines to check if it's my provider or my set up. I fail to see how this is wasting anyones time particularly as they are automatically generated lines freely available on websites on the internet.

I will sub with someone else if I can't resolve the problem, I have had 12 months of decent quality viewing so I don't want to ditch it just yet.

He did state that I would need a new line because he had changed his server, my daughter also has her line from him and no issues for her with his new server but I am getting freezing!

Based on the assumption of you stating "I'm still waiting for a reply from my provider but I'm getting sick of requesting test lines just to keep me going for a few days".

"Requesting" being the key word here, my thoughts were that you are using this site for the tests. With regards to your automatically generated ones, that really does beg the question why on earth haven't you requested on this site, just saying...

I have been requesting test lines from various websites that automatically generate test lines so that I don't waste anyone's time. Many of the sites either don't send the emails or the lines simply do not work.

I will be requesting a line from someone on this site if my provider fails to respond this time, up until now he has been trying to help but hasn't replied since last week. That could be due to the new year though.

I believe I have found the source of my problem!

My provider has kindly informed me AFTER taking my 12 month subscription that it is now only one box per line. No mention whatsoever beforehand.

Not too happy about that. Looks like I will need a second line after all.

Exactly what happened me to..
I got onto my line provider as it always worked on 2 boxes before and he advertise as so but when I renewed it was freezing mad. So he agreed to give me a second line to keep me happy..
Worth a try.. ask and you might receive

Already sent him an email stating I'm not happy about not being informed, he hasn't responded yet.

I'll wait and see but with all the rumours about it all coming to an end I won't hold my breath. He's probably done this to get as much money as possible before it all comes crashing down, if it actually does!!

EDIT: He just sent me a 3 month line for my sons box so all is not lost!!
