Hi

A friend of mine has moved into a new house and he has the below gas fitting...it looks a bit different from my gas fitting...do I need to by a part/attachment before fitting the bayonet gas hose?

Thanks

Once you remove the blank, You need to fit a bayonet type fitting, then you can fit the hose direct to the fitting. I would recommend using a gas safe engineer as diying is the reason people come unstuck. ;-)
Is there not a forum relating to gas queries ??

yep agreed and think of those rusty threads inside and they will give it a gush to flush the line out before fitting item with proper sealant for threads.

you need a gas safe engineer as the home insurance will be void. It dose not cost much around £45.00 to fit a gas cooker plus parts if req

Thanks for all the replies guys...just got and he said £99 plus parts.

is this a fair quote guys and Mike?

I would say that is expensive £99 spoke to 1 I work with average price about £50 and parts about 30 mins work
