Hi Guys,

Got a new Kryptview A780 box after all the scandal with Starview at the minute thought id jump ship instead of renewing subs.

Ive tried searching all the existing posts for some answers but to no avail.

My set up is:
Kryptview A780 box connected to laptop via USB/Null lead, connected to router via ethernet.
Windows Vista

What Ive done so far:
Got the "Loader" and "Kryptview_A780_12042012.bin" file
Loaded the software via the USB/Null lead (COM port 18), I presume successfully as it says "Success" and not the download required thing that i keep reading about.
Auto search for channels under N*L (Checked area on legit box and feed, says 41069)
Finds shite load of channels, but are scrambled
Go to S/W Update and thats where it goes pear shaped.

Update screen freezes....for ages, showing no progress. Ive read that it only takes a few minutes.

Should this software work without the S/W update on box menu?

I'm wondering if the box is not connecting to internet through laptop. Ive got Kaspersky internet security on the laptop. Is there a possibility that's restricting access?

If all else fails with this setup I will try and get an old laptop and start again with NULL cable direct.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Menu/System Info/that shows what software is on the box, update to 29/11/11 if not on the box, then try online update.

Some have said the online update is down ATM

Did you try reboot box/router/modem.

Like me you don't have to be a genus.:willy nilly:

what file is the 12042012? the update is the 26042012 so recheck your file used and box.

kryptview needs its own connection to the router by cable hopefully, you did remove the sticker at rear covering lan port?modem box and router may need powering off at rear for 30 secs then on.

Cactikid,
I'm a bit embarrassed but that was it! Don't think I've read any where, even in the manual, about a super covert sticker over the LAN port.

Thanks mate, I'm all up and running
