Hi guys

havent spoke in a while,

As the title above suggests i keep getting glitching, Sky Sports news MUTV are unwatchable

I have tried the following

Checked signal with virgin - check.

Checked software up to date- check


Checked connections - check

Ive tried turning the super hub back into an ordinary modem, that left no channels

Rescanned box - check

The only options are a) co attenuator and b) buying a nrange modem to improve the signal on the not so super hub

Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent cheapish co attenuator as obviously that will be cheaper. Someone did point out one before but the connections were wrong

what box? must be 850 as you are using attenuator the box will probably need modding to fix this problem

a850. Even when i turn the wireless off that makes little difference. I wouldn't mind but the glitching is happening about once a minute at the omment.
 
i bet you have your lan going to the superhub and not a router,all mentioned in the 850 tut.when the mod is done it can work with the old hub.and new firmware.

Yes!, what would i be better to do, wait for the modding or invest in a wireless router

What kind/price range of router would i need mate, prefs as cheap as poss atm.
 
as the box needs the mod,if it were me i would get it done then could use the superhub without the router.you would only need a wifi router if you have other things that use wifi like laptop.
 
i had the same problem with my new talktalk router exactly the same as the bt hub. had to go back to my netgear.

Do you mind me asking what netgear just wondering whether you need an expensive modem ?
 
Ok since I last posted I decided to switch my not so super hub into
modem mode(WiFi off) and connected to the hub a netgear dual band
wireless N router brought off eBay for 35quid.
Then connected my kV 780 to the new router. After using this method for
over a week I have seen a vast improvement I rarely get a scrambled
message with loss of picture. And channels that were previously terrible
are watchable again as at worst the picture will freeze every 5mins or
so for 2secs with the sound continuing then picture resumes.
I know this may not work for every but if your still struggling with bad
reliability buying a decent 300m wireless N router for 20quid and using
this method I highly recommend.
At worst if this method doesn't improve your viewing you'll have better
WiFi range as in my case and many others the super hubs wireless signal
was poor. .

tried the super hub as a normal modem tonight and it made the glitching 10 x worse on a usually reliable channel

my question is this

if i buy a wireless router do i just leave the super hub as a normal modem then run the router via a cable connecting the not so superhub and the router.

Does a more expensive router lead to better picture on the kryptview or will any old one do it.
 
with all the different types of router out there someone should be able to verify,the last one on list looks ok to me all you need is a lan cable from sh to router and it plugged in then kv is plugged into it,maybe your super hub is on a wrong port setting ?
it allows the box to have connected ip address without dropping signal.

just did a factory reset on the router, so that would rule out the port problem? Ill try the router, then if that dont work the mod, then if that dont work ill give up on kryptview and become a monk :)
 
try looking at the superhub model and google it as it sometimes there may be an update for it ,or info how to adjust port settings,take note of what you have in case.

i wont even reset my router,i just power it off then on.
 
ill try the router mate, the glitchings still terrible.

i take it the co attenuator isnt an option , then?
 
can someone link me to a co attenuator on ebay when i search thm i can only find one for digital tv's?
