GO710 Repair Advice

Hi I have a TOMTOM GO710 and has a charging fault. The charger and dock seem fine so I decided to replace the battery. Unfortunately, this has not cured the fault. Upon further checking I noticed that the green light comes on when the unit is on the dock but dosn't charge the unit, but if I hold the unit down with some pressure the the unit charges.

Has anyone had the same fault and found a cure?

Any help on the matter is greaty apprecited

It sounds obvious the the connector pins in the charging dock are not making proper contact with the connector pins on the device under the weight of the device alone?

Are the connecting pins on either device adjustable? by that I mean, can you use a paper clip or something similar to bend them up a little?
