H2S Display tweaks anyone? Standard def a bit disappointing.

Hello.
Have just installed and set up a new H2S today.
Nice and nippy and an improvement in most regards over the trusty F5S.
However.
I dont see anyway of tweaking the resolution output or display menus to improve the standard definition channels. IE Sports and movies.
On the F5S, there were a couple of tweaks that were worth doing. Can anyone suggest anything to improve matters as the F5S was defo better on SD.

I can confirm however that this box, like the F5S, will run 2 TVs with a Neet HDMI Splitter, AND!!..... if you use an IR over HDMI kit, it will change your channels/volume in another room too.
Make sure all cables in your entire system are 1.4 standard. You only need one non 1.4 cable plugged in to say, your AV amp from the TV, and it'll scupper it.
Its a bit of a bugger connecting it all as ports are too close together, but managed to lash something up.

Any display tweaks very welllllcome.

there is a plugin you can download.
system plugins... videoenhancement.

Once its installed I don't think it shows in plugins, but in your display/ui menus.

With that you can tweak the sharpness, noise etc.

It's not perfect but with minor tweaks you can get a cleaner picture.

And if you have a reasonable good tv let the tv do the upscaling rather than the zgemma.
 
you wont get anywhere near the picture quality of the F5s on the Zgemma, Hard to believe i know but Broadcom which is the most widely used chipset in Enigma2 receivers is a poor performer compared to the likes of the chipsets in closed source receivers which use the Ali,STi video processors.

The F5s used the Ali3601 which is marginally better than the BCM7358 used in the Zgemma, I am afraid you will have to get used to it
 
Thanks both for the replies. That is rather disappointing as the new box is so slick.
I may redeploy the F5S though, as i'm really a live sport type and not so bothered about recording/ EPGS etc. Nice as they are.
I also having trouble picking up Setanta. The guy i bought it off said it was loaded, but all i've got is Premier Sports. Have been advised to change region to Northern Ireland but not sure i want irish local news in the south west.
Any tips here?

Menu , setup, service searching, autobouqets marker, configure and change include not indexed channels to yes then providers choose your area custom not sd or HD then start scan
 
Thanks very much. Thats worked a treat. Will they stay in the EPG even after nightly updates?
Quite why the guy i bought it off couldn't tell me this is bizarre.
I think on reflection, ill put up with slightly shonky SD pic.
