ive got the free to air channels working on cable, but need the box to connect
to my internet and to put my line in.its connected with ethernet cable

I have a h2h with open atv 6.2 and whooshbuild infinity, you will need to update to 6.2 open atv, and maybe give whooshbuild infinity or Grog build a go.

Have you got the box wired to the router as its a simple question as we need to know to help

yeah mate,my other box (a v8 golden) connected automatically.
i just took the ethernet cable out of that and plugged it straight in.

Look at the back of the box and see if both lights are flashing and as mentioned go into information and then network and see if the green light is on or is it red

You can put the line in using filezilla from the laptop, log into the box and navigate to usr/keys folder and paste the CWS line into newcamd.list file, then close it.
Then restart the softcam in softcam panel

You can't be using openatv 6.1 vix image, openatv and vix are different images

I've downloaded FileZilla, all I get from that is you appear to be behind a NAT router please configure passive mode settings and forward a range of ports in your router.
Doing my nut in this

Switch the router off at the wall
then change nameserver settings on the box
menu>setup>system>network>device setup>nameserver settings
change namerserver1 to 8.8.8.8
change nameserver 2 to 8.8.4.4
press green to save
then put box into standby, reboot both box and router
when fully rebooted, go back to
menu>setup>system>network>device setup>nameserver settings and check that the above DNS have saved correctly
the box should then connect to internet and you can use filezilla

Did that mate,it's definitely saved the settings but saying the same thing on my laptop when I try to connect FileZilla

is the box connected?
have you done a network test on the box?
menu>setup>system>network>device setup>network test

should be all green ticks

there shouldn't be a password
in host you put the box ip address, 192.168 etc
you put root in user and click quick connect, don't put anything in password

Done a network test
Lan adapter green tick
Local network green tick
DHCP disabled
IP address unconfirmed
Name server unconfirmed
