Newbie
Well I have just noticed, today is my 1 year anniversary on this site.
Like most people who venture across this site, I was new to sat boxes, desperately needing assistance and didn't really have a clue about anything.
Thanks to the kind people of this forum in my early days, I stuck around this helpful forum, read every thread going in general satellite / zgemma sections and thought I could learn a little to give a little back.
Well what a difference 12 months makes. And what a difference it's made to my life. Basically its took over my life. :)
Returning the favour, I have made over 3000 posts trying to help people.
I wrote the newbie glossary to help people learn in one thread, what took me weeks of researching from various sources.

I wrote the openatv barebones setup guide (guinea pigs guide originally) to help people make their own backup builds. Mainly because at the time mtpockets openatv build was getting a bit old, and sucmnsee used vix (which everyone who knows me, knows I am no fan of vix on zgemmas). So basically the barebones guides was my own trial and tribulations on how the feck do you create a build from scratch and has been a very well used resource by people of this forum.

As a graphic designer I started to delve into skin design as I thought I could tidy up the original blue hd skin a little.... A little... jee whizz... my life changed forever... ha... Slyk 1 HD was born, reborn and reborn again. 9 months on that skin is still being perfected which shows how much dedication I put into that work of art. ;) ... Never again I said.
And finally after lots of requests I buckled and created the VskinHD skins just to please the cable crew.

Now the whole point of this message is not to blow my own trumpet, it's basically saying because this forum was welcoming and helpful from the off. I stuck around and gave a little back. Maybe a little more than most, but that was my choice.
That is exactly what this forum prides itself on. Being helpful. Yes some off us get a bit sick and tired of the same old questions, some of us get massive grump ons now and again, but that is where the next batch of members come in. You may know the answer that a complete noob doesn't. So help the person out. The same bunch of people can't answer every question all the time.
Read a lot, faff a lot, break your box a lot. Make some friends, make some enemies... Welcome to techkings. You might be here for some time.........
Have fun.

and is this a goodbye.... who knows... ;)I
