Hard drive size

Hi
Wondering how large an external hard drive i can use. Using WD 1tb portable at moment with no problems but can i connect a 8tb desktop drive. Ive seen the seagate 8tb backup hub, would that work?

The odd person uses a 6tb externally powered desktop,my biggest is 2tb. But as i have many boxes total could be 12tb.
Even have a nas drive 2tb.

So as long as externally powered then a 6tb/8tb should work ok?

Might depend how fast the box in use is or may take a while to load the recordings.

You say you got many boxes, do you use some kind of hub to connect them all at same time if this can even be done

No all boxes are networked as running samba which allows all hdds to be accessed by any e2 box and can play any recording i want.
