Hi all, I wish to add a VPN to my Skybox F3, I ready have a VPN installed on my computers and phone with "Private Internet Access .com" but wish to hide my c/s. Does anyone have any advise or experience with doing this. Do you add the details to the box or is there another way. Many thanks

You scared you get caught

Thanks for that. Anyone else able to offer some worthwhile advice on adding a VPN to a Sky box f3. BT provide my Internet and it's been mentioned on here that they sometimes block ip's linked to c/s. As I'm having problems with glitches and down time, I thought I would try this solution first before I either change isp or server. Any proper help would be appreciated.

Im with Bt the only prob if you go down the VPN route is after a while BT while drop your inernet speed like they did with me becase they say they could not find a proper connection, so i had to turn VPN off and after a a few days the speed went back to normal. Talking about glicths that will be your server get a test line from another dealer and try that.

I just thought a Skybox forum would be a good place to get some technical help. Sorry if you take my "How" as shouting, It wasn't supposed to come across like that, but I would just like an answer to the question I asked. I understand the problems with VPN's slowing speed down, it was just something I was interested in trying.

After some searching I found the original thread I remembered seeing, It was in "General Satellite Discussion" back in July.
"in some cases if your skybox keeps on freezing or glitching it may not be down to your service provider. the reason for this is that your ISP will sometimes block well known ports that c/s services use. the work around for this problem is to use a VPN. known ISP that do this are B.T and virgin media. for the people who do not know what a vpn is it means virtual private network. and this basically will hide the fact you are using a c/s service . here is a free VPN network download the software and activate it. you can also deactivate at any time as well. Hotspot Shield - Free and Elite VPN Download"
I will try it out and report back on how it went, for anyone interested.

This question intrigued me too, so I decided to experiment. Can't figure out a way to directly connect skybox to VPN, but found a working get-a-round. Used an old (XP box) that connects to a VPN, Fitted a spare LAN card into the PC, which I connected to the skybox via ethernet cable, set the normal LAN card to " allow other users to connect to internet using my connection " started up the VPN and tested skybox which worked fine. Hope this may be off use to someone
