Hdd setup
I have a lenovo t410 which it's hdd is knackered. I have been given a Toshiba satellite laptop and taken the hdd out and put it in the lenovo.when I go into bios I can see the new hdd but when I switch the unit on I only get a flashing line in the top left corner. Is there a way of getting this to work?

you will find some of the IBM / Lenovo kit requires a boot sector written by the machine. You should be able to boot from CD/DVD and install windows on to the drive. It is very doubtful that the machine would startup even without the bootsector problem, the 2 laptops have different hardware so windows would fail to start. There are a few ways around it but if you have been given the drive, I prsume you don't mind loosing whats on it via re-installing windows ?

Are both HDD (ones not a SSD)? So it doesn't boot into OS, have you tried reinstalling the OS on the replacement drive as it could be a driver issue.

you will have to boot from your windows install media and format/reinstall windows on this drive.

I've put a replacement hdd in and managed to install windows. But it's missing the network drivers so I can't connect to wifi? How can I install the drivers?I've also got missing ethernet drivers so cant seem to get online to download drivers
Update....I've managed to get online via ethernet after installing ethernet driver. Now I'm just stuck as to what network driver I should install
