Cable Homeplugs/ powerline adopter help for z gemma

Hi

Im hoping to run another cable connected Zgemma box to a different room in the house. I already have a live feed coming through the room via a splitter but im not to sure what to do next. What is the best homeplug or powerline adopter to use to get the internet signal? and how do they work replacing a direct feed from the router ?

any info would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

I have got homeplugs setup.

Plug homeplug 1 into the wall socket.
You connect a network cable from the router to homeplug 1.

Plug homeplug 2 into the wall socket.
Connect a network cable from the zgemma to the homeplug 2.

This will only work good if both the plugs are on the same "ring"

It does it by magic.

as bootsboy has correctly explained. Basically the inner wiring of your house acts as one big long cable from your router to your device.

So you router cable plugs into a homeplug. This circuit then goes around your house. Where ever you put the second home plug completes the circuit and you put a cable from this second one to your device. (see its magic)

I recommend no less than 500 Mbps speed for the homeplugs. They all do a similar job so buy what ever you can afford. But some of the cheaper ones will randomly lose contact with each other and need reseting.

Popular brands are your netgears or tp-links. I personally use bt 500 kit which has a built in hotspot and also a pass through plug so I don't lose a socket. So my second homeplug is actually a standalone wireless hotspot aswell as wired.

was always curious of how many of these could one use if adding pc,sat box cable box to homeplugs=garbled info? more than one unit in operation.
