How Do You Fit Additional Immobilising Relay to Car with Start/Stop Fuel Saving?

Hi,

Is it possible to fit an extra immobilising relay* to amodern car loom with start-stop fuel saving?
(*in addition to the manufacturers standard immobilisingsystem)

This is the logic that I’d like =

Initial turn of key = only start engine if fitted securitysystem is happy to start AND secondary immobiliser relay is ‘ON’
Stop-Start operation = work as normal and pay no attentionto secondary immobiliser relay state

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance

no idea on that one but modern cars electrics can be a minefield with so many protected circuits and various feeds thru ecus.unless you want to cut the feed to fuel pump?maybe better security electricians can answer that one.

What is it that you plan on immoblising? HT circuit, fuel pump? Most of these cars are now CAN bus enabled which effectively is a connection protocol that enables "bits" of the car to talk to each other.
To do this you would need CAN bus capable module, in depth understanding of what you're doing, and a good grasp of auto electrics for you to undo what went wrong!

why would you want to fit a "kill switch" to a modern car? unless its a bmw/ford with push start/entry then i wouldnt bother. cars these days run 3 speed can bus hi mid low depending on spec. 500k,125k, 33.5k the amount of extra stuff an engine has with stop/start to a engine that hasnt is crazy. gearbox switch for neutral position auxilary water pump to keep coolant flowing while engine is stopped. modified starter motors to keep starter engaged on the ring gear of the flywheel. diesels have pressurised glow plugs so the ecu knows where tdc is after the engine has stopped and the list goes on.
