RIP Former Liverpool and Scotland forward Ian St John has died at the age of 82 after a long illness.

St John joined Liverpool from hometown team Motherwell in 1961 for a club record £37,500 and played 425 games for the Anfield side, scoring 118 goals, during a decade of service.
He won two top-flight titles and scored the decisive goal as Liverpool lifted their first FA Cup in 1965.

St John also earned 21 Scotland caps and managed Motherwell and Portsmouth.

He was a player before my time but remember watching him as a kid on "Saint and Greavsie." May he rest in peace.

He was a great whole hearted footballer in his playing days, he also done lots of work for various charities after he stopped playing, but of course he will always be remembered for his double act alongside Jimmy Greaves, with Saint&Greavsie in what turned out to be an iconic ITV lunchtime football show. R.I.P the saint.

Used to love watching Greavsy & the saint on saturday morning on itv in me younger days. Both were Brillant football pundits
