Hi guys after ditching f5s just got ibox 2 plus after all new software updates and new sky epg, i have 4 dots on the front of the box now instead of a clock, And anyone tell me how to install a usb hard drive on these, plugged one straight in tonight recorded some stuff but had audio description on it then some had no audio and would not forward or rewind.
Any help would be great cheers
 
Choose the audio stream from the button marked audio on the remote control. To install hard drive go to vix menu and follow prompts.
4 dots is normal on openvix images. Openpli will have channel numbers but very little available online.
 
I am currently working on trying to make streaming/downloading work properly on an opempli image, but not there yet. Will post image if successful.

Did u initialise and mount and set recording all to hdd?

all i did m8 was format it rebooted box and it mounted itself,
is this right if not could you give me the dumb version as this is all new to me.

make sure prefer ac3+ is not ticked unless your using an amplifier with optical input. Also the sound on some downloads is very quiet so try turning up volume and you might find it is there.
 
On a separate note when u set up ur hdd its a good idea to do a swapfile and set epg to hdd

Swap manager
Create
Autostart
Activate
Close

Then
Menu
Setup
System
Epg
Settings. And make sure set to /media/hdd

Just as a check for the audio

Av settings
Dolby digital /dts downmix. Yes
AAC downmix. Yes
Exit to system
Auto langiage selection
Audio language 1. English
Prefer ac3 track. Yes
Prefer audio track stored by service. Yes
Exit to system

Then reboot box and tv and remove and replace hdmi (maybe even swap out as a longshot but never seen that).
After that id maybe give up and do a 10 min reflash.
