He had to download a sub file and then that gave him the option to turn off.
Which he didn’t have initially or after reinstalling.
Using a modified version of iMPlayer from a supplier so maybe that could be the reason because I have installed it on many occasions and never had an issue like that.

Yes, a removal and reinstalation gave him the options to do what he needed to do to get it right.

It was on all movies/series. I have reinstalled and the issue was still present, I clicked on the OpenSubtitles section and downloaded a different one and then it said Turn Off. So it seems to be working ok now, I have tried a few different shows and they haven't come back on, just a bit glitchy I think.

Read what the OP stated that the issue was still present after they reinstalled the app.
Only by downloading a subtitle file did it give them the option to turn subtitles off which should have been present in the first place and wasn’t.
Which the OP mentioned in post #16 that they did not have the off button like I did.
Also subtitles should not be enabled when you first install iMPlayer with no means to turn them off.
Well they are not enabled on the official app that has no third party modifications implemented on it.
Not in all years I have been using it anyway.👍🏻
Not sure of how long you have been using and testing the app.

Uninstalling & reinstalling didn’t fix the problem your wrong mate.
