Dishpointer will give you inaccurate coordinates Use Google earth to pin point
Your excat location You will find your cordinates will be completely different from
Dish pointer

you are right!! there is quite bit of difference in two. I checked on Googe Earth and quite bit of difference. will check on motor tonight and report. Hopefully that will fix my issue.

do you have any comment on my second question regarding copying tuner settings from one image to a different?

Remember when your motor is at goto 0
Your satellite dish should be 180° south
Which is 2.7 west Looking at your satellite dish face on when the satellite dish moves to thor 0.8west It should move to the right
A few degrees

Thanks . Did not understand what is V box until I googled it. Dont think, i shall be buying any additional equipment to store positions.

The instruction you sent to save positions were same I used to save my current settings . As it is a time consuming process, thought to learn a way to copy the settings.

I think, i should be able to copy the tuner settings by copying some files. found these on a different fourm, will try if that works?

The tuner setting are part of the file
settings
located in /etc/enigma2
and you can copy all the lines starting with NIMS. Chech in it also for some other lines that might be related to tuners.

if someone have done this then good to know if it works.

Thanks will check coordinates again to make sure.

How can I check each Step west or east move the dish by what angle? As I done 8 steps west so that could be 2 degrees movement if each step is quarter a degree ?
I think each 'step east/west' movement moves the dish 0.1°. Try moving from a transponder on 9e to 10e or vice versa. It should take ten presses of the step east/west button to move between the two sats.
