Injured man is being treated at Tallaght Hospital


A man in his 50s is in a critical condition following a shooting in west Dublin.

He was taken to Tallaght Hospital following the incident, which occurred at Rowlagh Park in Clondalkin at around 6.40pm.

It is understood the man, who is in his 50s, was shot as he answered his front door. His injuries are said to be life-threatening.

Gardaí say he is a family man and is not known to them.

At least two people are believed to have been involved in the shooting.

Gardaí have issued an appeal for information and are particularly interested in a dark coloured car that sped away from Rowlagh Park and on to the Neilstown Road after the shooting.

The scene has been sealed off for a forensic examination.
