iptv server..

hi there, i live in rural ireland and im looking to get iptv working efficiently. is it dependant on internet strength or distance to server as ive tried a couple i guess based in uk but they have been piss poor, Any help or advice much appreciated. cheers

Not a lot you can do if you have slow broadband,Need at least 7/8 mbps to get a decent SD connection and HD a bit faster

Then I would say it's your end. Doesn't matter much where it comes from really, if you got an Irish one it wouldn't be any better, but keep trying

Have you tried a speed test to check what your getting

You are really going to struggle getting iptv to run smooth with those speeds.

7/8 meg to run sd? I'm running fhd on 6 meg and it never misses a beat, and I know somebody running sd perfectly with 3.5 also.

Depends on transcoding of the source server...

I've seen some channels taking 28MB for fhd, but has been excellent, superb quality

This is true, people talk a lot about bandwidth tho. I could be getting 50 meg and have latency of 50-60ms or be getting 6 meg with 10 latency, it really depends on your connection quality.

That's very true too... Fortunately, I get 10-15ms and 47-52MB down :-P
