Is it worthwhile to re-instate my motorized dish?

Hello Forum,

I'm seeking some advise from the well established members on this forum.
As per thread title Is it worthwhile to re-instate my motorized dish? I lost interest after the storm Ophelia gave it a good hammering and lost signal.
I got lazy and stuck with the IPTV, but I find that a little frustrating at times with lag & skips, always when you pay particular attention to a movie or show.
So, I'm wondering is it worth the hassle since alot of the sats went dark after the big crackdown.
Firstly, is CCAM clearing channels on different sats, or is OSCAM which I havent a bulls notion about the substitute now going forward.
I'll leave it at that for the moment as I could be wasting my time typing looking for something that no longer operates as I want.

Even though i went from motorised to fixed dishes i always had it there but never used it much now i can as with multiple feeds on many boxes from 3 dishes.

Being at home for ages now I thought I would start using my motor more (again).

Got to say I forgot how awesome proper tv is. Even the footie with synced radio commentary so much better then streaming.

Hi all,
Just following up on this mission.
Weather hasn’t been great for me get at the dish since original post.
So, in the meantime I need assistance with how to navigate OSCAM if possible.
Only ever used CCcam, so I’m back to the very start again.
I have my lines converted, but after looking at the net till my head melted.
I just threw in the towel and swallowed my pride.
If any member here is patient enough to give me a dig out to walk through the start to finish, I would really appreciate it.

Ya apologies for the lack of info.
Using Vu Solo 2
Image OpenATV 6.4
OSCAM-EMU ( not sure if it’s the right one for C line conversion.)

Hope this is adequate for you.

Navigate to ect/tuxbox/config

In there you should have 3 files for basic operation user,server and conf

Right click and edit the oscam.server file

Always edit your files in notepad++ nothing else.

If you were given a cline like this

C: server.dyn.dns.com 1234 user pass Server address is the one in your cline

Hi All, managed to get up to my dish to re-align it.
I managed to get a signal on 0.8W, got nothing on the rest so went fooling around with it again.
Can I please ask if it matters where the dish is bolted to the motor arm. Top middle, bottom. What I found is the lower down the arm, the more play in the gear. Not massive but feels more with the dish. Maybe that’s OK but I’d like an opinion.

Where it mounts on the motor arm is not important as long as it is a flat part of the motor tube, what is important is you make sure the dish is bolted to it straight to 0 degree
