Is there an absolute beginners guide?

I've noticed that I'm one of many people stating that they are complete newbies so is there a thread anywhere to start us all off? I'm looking for something as simple as which is the best box for a beginner and a really simple guide to things like clines, cccm & payservers (right from the start, like what exactly are they & do I need them!!) Just something to stop 100 poeple asking the same questions. Hope someone can point me in the right direction so that I'm not wasting people's time (or bugging the experts)

there are guides. however, we cannot post details of lines but there is a place to ask for good providers. most dont listen and go for the cheap option and complain later.
