I may need another box for bedroom and just wonder if there is another box on the market that does the same things as Gigablue box. (record up to 8 channels at once)

Thinking if I get the same box it might disturb or distort recordings in other room?

A similar price

VU+ do boxes with FBC tuners, I recently changed the cable FBC tuner for a sat one in my VU+ Uno 4k.

I've not looked at prices though

The VU+ are a good choice for FBC tuner but a lot more expensive then the Gigablue.

You wont have any problems using an additional Gigablue in another room different IP and Mac anyway.

It isn't 8 channels, it is 8 transponders.

Which LNB do you have?

Just ensure that you set all the tuners with unique SCRs. Using one SCR on two tuners is the only thing that will affect other devices.

Also bear in mind that you can set up the new receiver to use the GB UE 4K's tuners as a fallback. So you may not need an FBC tuner on the new device. If you have an old receiver, try that first before deciding.

@Abu Baniaz , I had tried to get Sat>IP working via gigablue uhd quad 4k never managed it but tried gbipboxclient and it worked first time had all channels working on zgemma h9 combo.

Hi Abu
I do have an old zgemma but it is not connected to the other room only from The dish and through the Window.

My big problem is that I can only watch non Slky programmes and I thought speaking to experts like yourself Saturday football would have been easy to install. I have found it so challenging trying to pick up ideas that are suggested by Techkings specialists. A few in this list.

@urie
I have never tried Sat IP, I don't know how it works. Apart from ATV/PurE2, I don't think mots other images have implemented it properly.

The function I was referring to is fall back tuner. On OpenPLI there is a sub menu in the tuners/scanning menu called `Fallback tuner`. On Vix it is called `Fallback configuration`. The principle is that if the tuners on this box are not available, use the ones on the other receiver.

@Billy315
Which image are you using on the Zgemma? Name and version/date please. Is it connected to your home network?

You will only get live Saturday football if you have a Euro line and have multi sat dish setup, that is, you need the dish pointing to foreign satellites, not the regular UK 28.2, there's been nothing good on UK sat for five years

How would I get a euro feed for free 3pm footy?
Scanning the usually suspects commonly 7e 10e but feeds can pop up anywhere on any sat position.

The problem with FBC tuners is blindscan wont work so youll miss them anyway.

Then you need to find the biss key and add it to the softcam. It's a lot of work if you dont know what you are doing.

Or use some info posted on the net

Would I need more Tuners?

It is Scottish footy for me.

As i say mate the FBC tuners dont blind scan. Could be a driver issue and may get fixed at some point.

At the end of the month im buying the UE but the spare slot will have a standard S2 tuner in it for blind scanning.

You dont need a none FBC tuner if your using information say from the thread i linked.

Youl can manually input the frequency, fec etc under manual scanning options.

Hi Ferret, Is the blind scanning issue still there with FBC tuners ?

thinking to buy Gigablue UHD UE 4K or VU+ Uno 4K SE or Gibablue 4k Quad UHD. came across your post which you suggested not worth paying extra £50 for similar spec so more inclined toward UE. I am not too much interested in recording multi channels so FBC is not too much important for me but blind scan is more important as like to tune feeds on 10E etc.

Would you suggest, buying a separate optional S2 tuner with UE or suggest a different spec box like Octagon SF8008.

Yes mate no blind scan with FBC tuners but with the s2 tuner blind scan works fine well, well as well as blindscan works with any E2 box anyway.

That is my setup the UE with an s2 tuner in the spare slot best of both worlds.

The Octagon ive been recommending since purchasing one after its release great box no FBC tuners obviously but if you dont need FBC tuners and dont mind an external HDD then its a very good option but not in the same league as the UE.

Cheers. Yes, I am looking for quality as well so happy to pay premium for GB or VU brand.

All things equal , ignoring small difference in price ,would you still prefer GB over VU Uno 4K and why ?

Which box has better quality remote ?

The Uno does not have a spare tuner slot so that is what tipped me towards the UE.

Been a Vu+ man for a lot of years im happy with the UE.
