Any reason why or solution?

what is already installed on the box before trying to flash grogbuild ?

Have you got an initialised USB stick/HDD connected to the box?

Edit:

Yeah
It gets up to the stage where you select the skin
Then outputs that error

do you see bars going accross the TV screen showing it is starting to flash?

It suggests that the ATV image that it's trying to flash has an issue

tried new build still get the same error.
Tried usb in both front and back port still no luck.

It does not get to the screen where you see it flashing with bar on the screen. It bombs out on putty after selecting the skin. Get the error above.

Will try few other things tomorrow.

What skin are you choosing?
Try choosing default skin, you can change it later

what is currently installed on the box?

Does the box boot up OK with existing image? if ATV then see if you can 'flash online' the latest ATV image. Blue button -> FLash Online

currently atv 6.3 latest nightly build 03/12/2019
the image works fine when I set it up the old fashion way by installing the plugins needed manually.

i will try pablo's suggestion of not choosing the vmskin and see if that makes a difference.

If not no big deal I will just reconfigure it manually. (just easier using grogbuild because it does it all for you haha)

cheers

yeah tried using default skin still same error.
has anyone successfully installed grogbuild on h9 combo?

root@zgemmah9combo:~#

that is the full output.

Is the box, sorry I don't know it, a multiboot box? or do you want to multiboot? if it's the only thing being installed try entering 0 when prompted 'If using multiboot box please enter partition to flash: '

I've not installed on an H9 but I am sure someone will be able to confirm.

At the very top of the output is this line, with 59 spaces in it:
root@zgemmah9combo:~# wget --no-check-certificate -O fla.sh http://flashmybox4.m e && bash fla.sh
It didn't post with spaces but they are there in the output above, where's these come from?

I dont see any spaces in the line of code he posted. the e is missing off the end because he has copied from box shell which doesn't have word wrap

He's pasted the code correctly otherwise the script wouldn't have downloaded and executed

ah that's a good shout, all other h9's have usb.zip files apart from the (TWIN and COMBO) , not sure how the files differ.

UPDATE:

OK the script takes the last image in the list, as this is normally the latest image. in this case it is picking the recovery file so I have updated the script to ignore filenames containing the word 'recovery'.

@y2s2408 could you try again and see if that fixes your issue please?

Ok lads I finally got it working.
I tried flashing the box using the grog script to use vix and slot 2 and it still didn't work. Tried all slots 1-4 just did not like it.

So I booted in to the recovery menu and used the flash online method to flash it with openvix in slot 1 and overwrite existing atv.

Once in vix I ran the grog script and installed atv in slot 2 and that seemed to work.

Maybe the change you did fixed it or maybe it just didn't like having openatv in both slots or overwriting the current atv build in slot 1.
Who knows but is working now.

Thanks for all your help fellas.
