Kenwood DDX8016DABS Forgotten Radio Code

Basically have the box and the unit itself of a Kenwood DDX8016DABS stereo which my newphew has given to my daughter for her first car however he hasnt used it for about 4 years and apparently input a 4 digit code when he first installed it in his old car and now cannot remember it (thinks he wrote it in the car manual but it was traded in about 3 years ago so no longer has it)
Is there any way to reset the security on this model so it can be installed in another car or is it a case of just throwing it away?

Many Thanks

Sorry .....the radio has to be taken into a Radio Decoding Service to have the code memory chip inside decoded.

There will not be a free solution from anywhere on the Internet for Kenwood codes

Thanks so much for the reply, that was what I thought but wasnt 100% sure

Can anyone recommend a Radio Decoding Service they can be posted to?

It is difficult to recommend anyone.

Try asking at your local Car Audio store

Otherwise try a Google search for RADIO DECODING and add your locality eg LONDON
